Ladies and Gentlemen, This is your opportunity to become a member of the coveted USATF Certified Officials community. And, for some of you to re-certify your standing as an active certified official. You MUST first complete and meet the following requirements (Three-Step compliant) at a minimum: 1. Become a member of the USATF membership team 2. Complete USATF SafeSport Training 3. Complete the appropriate (i.e. officials) Background Screening All of which can be done from your USATF connect profile account once you become a member. If you're already a member, you will click on the appropriate tab on the left side of your profile i.e...SafeSport or Background screening and follow the instructions. Once you've completed the training or screening, your status will display as "pending", until the process (training or screening) has been verified by USATF staff. This process can take a few days, so please complete these initial steps prior to contacting the Officials/Certification Chairmen for further instructions (i.e. officials application, complete appropriate rules review) for eligibility and registration to attend the Associations certification clinic. The next clinic will be held via the Association Zoom, 17 Dec 2023, at 10:00 a.m CT. Please mark your calendars and set a reminder, if interested or need to re-certify. The Texas Southern Association Certification Chairmen Mr. Preston Johnson, can be contacted at officials@texassouthern.usatf.org, and Co-Chairmen Mr. Omar De LaRosa at omardlr56@gmail.com. Reminder for all active and/or inactive officials: In addition to being three-step compliant. It is a requirement of the USATF National Officials Committee (NOC) that all certified officials attend their Association certification or re-certification clinic every Olympiad (4 years). Failure to do so, will result in non-compliance and therefore will NOT be considered a USATF Certified Official for the period of non-compliance. Please comply with this requirement if you want to be observed as a USATF Certified Official. See the attached memorandum for clinic dates.
