National Committee Term-Limits: Under USOPC direction, the national office has created an initial information sheet on impending national committee term limits which begin this December with selected committees. This legislation is still under review with additional revisions finalized at the Orlando annual meeting. Click here for the two-page info sheet.
At this USATF annual meeting, we are electing our new president in addition to several Board of Directors constituent seats and many committee officer positions. Our Association Committee is also electing the following positions for a four-year term of 2025-2028: Committee Chair, Vice Chair-Regions, Vice Chair-Technology and Workshops, Secretary and Treasurer. Simone Terry, our current West Region Rep. is nominated for the Chair position; Don Lawrence, our former Mid-America Region Rep is nominated for the Vice-Chair Regions position; Jay Miles, our current Vice Chair-Tech and Workshops is renominated for the position; Richard Messenger, our current Treasurer is renominated for the position; Suzie Pierce of the Nebraska Association has submitted her nomination for the position of Secretary. Those who wish to self-nominate for a position at this time are asked to send their nomination, seconded by a current USATF member to Pam Betz at aecsecretary@usatf.org with the office they wish to be nominated for. Thirty days prior to 6 December an additional invitation for nomination and election notice will be sent to all association representatives who are either the association president or their designee. Names and optional candidate statements of those nominated at that time will be included for each position. On Friday, 5 December additional nominations may come from the floor for any of the five elected positions. If a position is contested, elections will take place on 6 December. Associations are eligible for up to $2000.00 for grants to build or enhance your association’s programs and grow membership for the coming year! Click here for grant information and application link. Examples of Grant programs range from purchasing EDM or other officiating equipment, jump starting Cross or TF Grand Prix programs, hosting Run-Jump-Throw-Walk events, hosting youth TF or Cross events, etc. Contact Grants Coordinator Patti Petesch for further information. 2025 Grant submission deadline is 3 November.
