3. When was your club established? August 2018
4. What is your coaching background?
Coach Brian Elmore is a long-standing pillar in the pole vault community. In the fall of 2000, University of Texas coach Dana Boone asked Brian if he would assist her in starting a women's vault team. The program got going, starting with just one young lady and a couple of poles. He coached the first UT female Big 12 pole vault champion, and went on a run of 8 consecutive Big 12 victories including NAIA indoor and outdoor champions and record holders. During that time Brian also coached UT’s first female NCAA pole vault champion and NCAA indoor record holder. Prior to the University of Texas, he served as a coach of the Austin Striders from ’91-’94. In '97 Brian founded Lone Star Pole Vaulting and went on to produce 13 UIL State Champions, multiple UIL record holders, 10+ private school champions and 2 records, 2 USATF Junior Olympic Champions, and 7 AAU record holder Junior Olympic Champions. He is a certified master level pole vault official.

11. What is your proudest coaching moment in your career?
These are really hard questions. I can’t really pin down a proudest moment, each little accomplishment at the time of it occurring was just as exciting as the big moments. It sort of feels like a big cloud of proud moments. Sometimes not even competition moments but the kindness and compassion so many of our kids exhibit to others. I don’t have a way of discerning the proudest moment I guess, all of them end up equally great in my memory. I’m just thankful for all those proudest moments.
12. Do you coach all track and field or long distance running events? If not, which ones do you not coach?
13. Why did you become a coach?
My how I got into coach isn’t too noble. When Harvey Ware “volunteered” me to be the Austin Striders vault coach my first thought was I ain’t got time for this! My second thought was he only had two vaulters and maybe I could get a discount on the membership to the Striders for my kid. So it wasn’t a grand and glorious calling to be a coach, I was being miserly. Ol’ Harvey did me a favor though. I didn’t get no discount but he did get me hooked on working with kids.
